The next day, Elias noticed things were different. The apple he’d eaten yesterday was back on the table, and people repeated conversations they had already had. In a final act of courage, Elias reset the clock’s core, sacrificing his own birthday to repair time’s rhythm. The shadow vanished, and the village woke as if from a dream.
